Australian Arbitration Week 2026

Australian Arbitration Week 2026 will be held in the week of 11 to 16 October 2026 in Melbourne.

ACICA invites proposals to host events during Australian Arbitration Week 2026 (AAW) and to feature on the official AAW Calendar of Events.

AAW Event Proposals

Event proposal submission and deadlines

All event proposals are to be submitted through the ACICA website before 15 May 2026 (using the links below). Any proposals received after 15 May 2026 may not be able to be accommodated.

Once your event has been confirmed, participating organisations must submit the following information for inclusion in the AAW Calendar of Events before 31 July 2026:

  • Host organisation(s) logo(s).
  • Event flyer with details of speakers and topics covered.
  • Registration link or registration details.

Failure to provide confirmed event details by the deadline may result in your event being removed from the AAW Calendar of Events.

Minor updates only to events (i.e., changes to speakers due to availability issues) will be accommodated until 15 September 2026. It will not be possible to make changes to event details after this date.

Event proposal criteria and conditions

Organisations interested in hosting an event during AAW must submit the following information to ACICA for each event they wish to host:

  • Event title (we encourage creativity as this will be the only description published directly on the AAW Calendar of Events).
  • Brief description/tentative program for the proposed event (100 words).
  • Proposed speakers (even if not confirmed).
  • The practice area(s), sector(s) and region(s) the event covers.
  • Preferences for the date and time for your event (first, second and third preferences).
  • Venue or format/platform (virtual, hybrid or otherwise).
  • Intended audience, including whether the event is aimed specifically at young practitioners.
  • Identification of the appropriate contact person(s) managing the event.
  • Confirmation as to whether you consent to share with ACICA details of event attendees.
  • Confirmation of the participating organisation’s commitment to the Australian Arbitration Week Principles and an indication as to the steps it will take to ensure compliance.

Please note that ACICA may remove events from the AAW Calendar of Events if they do not comply with the Australian Arbitration Week Principles.

Proposals will be reviewed by ACICA and the date and time of the event confirmed to the participating organisation in writing.

Please note the following:

  • Participating organisations are free to submit as many event proposals as they wish, subject to paying the non-refundable Proposal Submission Fee for each event proposal (see below). However, if a participating organisation submits more than one event proposal, ACICA retains the discretion to give preference to achieving diversity amongst participating organisations.
  • Not-for-profit organisations may submit a maximum of one event proposal for inclusion in the AAW Calendar of Events for which no Proposal Submission Fee is payable.*
  • If two for-profit organisations wish to co-host an event (and be listed as co-hosts on the AAW Calendar of Events), each entity must pay a Proposal Submission Fee for the proposed event.
  • While ACICA will make every effort to offer a participating organisation one of its preferred time slots, this may not be possible in every instance. Once time slots are confirmed, no changes will be made.
  • Exclusivity in time slots is not guaranteed. ACICA will make every effort to ensure that events that will run concurrently in the AAW Calendar of Events are intended for different audiences.
  • ACICA retains the discretion to select which event proposals will be selected for the AAW Calendar of Events.  The submission of an event proposal and the payment of the Proposal Submission Fee does not guarantee a slot on the AAW Calendar of Events.
  • ACICA does not organise venues or registration/RSVPs for participating organisations.

* Events hosted by not-for-profit organisations shall be listed on the AAW Calendar of Events and advertised by ACICA in the name of the not-for-profit host organisation alone. A not-for-profit organisation may partner with a for-profit organisation e.g. to provide the venue/catering for an event. However, the for-profit organisation must pay the Proposal Submission Fee if it wishes to be advertised as a co-host for the event on the AAW Calendar of Events.

AAW 2026 Proposal Submission Fee

AAW Proposal Submission Fee: AUD440 plus GST* for each event proposal submitted by a participating organisation wishing to host an event during AAW.

* non-refundable and applicable to all event proposal submissions regardless of whether a particular event submission is accepted.
