Arbitration Incubation: Revolutions and Solutions: Reflections Across the Generations

As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in international arbitration, and to support the development and recognition of new talent, we are pleased to offer the opportunity for two rising talents in the arbitration community to act as interviewers on a panel of arbitral and judicial legends at the upcoming International Arbitration Conference (IA Conference).

Submissions are via expressions of interest and are required to be made by Thursday, 31 July 2025.

Submission Guidelines

Please submit the following information by email to secretariat@acica.org.au:

  • Full name
  • Nationality/nationalities
  • Age (Applicants must be under 45 years of age as at 13 October 2025. See below for eligibility exceptions.)
  • Location
  • Professional affiliation(s)
  • Academic and/or professional qualifications

Assessment and Selection

All submissions will be reviewed by a committee comprising members of the ACICA45 Steering Committee and the Ciarb Young Members Group (Australia branch). The review committee will prepare a shortlist for consideration by the Conference Organising Committee, which will make the final selection of two interviewers.

Successful applicants will be notified by mid-August 2025.

Additional Information

  • Selected interviewers will be required to compile a list of quick-fire questions relevant to the panel members.
  • The structure and format will be determined by the panel as a whole.
  • While panel members are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses, IA Conference registration fees will be waived.

Eligibility Exception

Applicants over the age of 45 as at 13 October 2025 may be considered if they can demonstrate fewer than five years’ experience in arbitration practice. If this applies to you, please contact secretariat@acica.org.au prior to submitting your proposal to confirm eligibility.
